Ms. Brown practices in various areas of civil litigation in federal and state courts of all types throughout New Mexico, at both trial and appellate levels. She has an active tort and insurance defense practice, including representation of vehicle manufacturers on crashworthiness issues, and defense of product liability claims involving medical devices, aircraft, food services and exercise equipment, and other diverse products. Ms. Brown serves as Chair of the Hospitality Service Group for the Industry Service Groups.
She provides advice and counsel to professional organizations and long term care providers on various issues, and represents them in defense of malpractice and nursing home liability claims. She also represents commercial entities in the defense of various claims including lender liability issues, and in connection with contract disputes. She has also defended a variety of individual and public entity defendants on civil rights claims.
Ms. Brown has served in a leadership role in the New Mexico State Bar Bench and Bar Relations Committee, for which she was twice awarded the State Bar's Outstanding Contribution Award. She also served on the State Bar and New Mexico Supreme Court's Joint Committee on Restoring Public Confidence in Court System. Ms. Brown is a member of the American Bar Association (Sections of Litigation and Tort & Insurance Practice), the Defense Research Institute, and the Albuquerque Bar Association.
Throughout her career, Ms. Brown has been involved as a director of numerous civic and community organizations, including service as a board officer of Family and Childrens Services, Inc., and A Child's Garden preschool. Currently, Ms. Brown serves as President of The Salvation Army of Albuquerque Advisory Board.
