Mr. Carrico concentrates his practice in education law, employment law and commercial litigation.
His education law practice emphasizes special education law. He serves as a primary counsel to the Albuquerque Public Schools, a district of 90,000 students, on special education related matters, and in that capacity provides counsel on day-to-day issues, as well as litigates special education matters in administrative proceedings and in the federal courts. Mr. Carrico also advises school districts regarding student civil rights matters, employment matters, the development of school policies and procedures and related school law issues.
Mr. Carrico's employment law practice involves advising both public and private employers regarding personnel policies, employee discipline, disability accommodations and similar matters, as well as litigation of discrimination claims, claims for retaliatory discharge, and breach of employment contract claims. Mr. Carrico's commercial litigation practice focuses on contract claims, business torts and business fraud claims.
