Final Report on Water Planning Town Hall

New Mexico First released its Final Report compiled during the Town Hall on Water Planning, Development and Use, held in Albuquerque on April 15 and 16, 2014.  The Town Hall drew its participants from business, government and community leaders from around the state.  The topics discussed at the Town Hall included:  regional and state water planning; conversation and use; watersheds and the environment; brackish and produced water; water funding; water shortages; water rights; and water compacts.  The Final Report, available here, sets forth fifteen concrete recommendations that, over the coming months, will be presented for implementation to federal, tribal, state, and local leaders.

New Mexico First is a public policy organization that conducts town halls and forums on issues facing New Mexicans, with a goal of creating actionable recommendations.  Modrall Sperling shareholder Joan Drake is on New Mexico First’s Executive Committee.  Modrall Sperling associates Sarah Stevenson and Zoe Lees served as recorders for the Town Hall.
