New Mexico Mining Commission Hearing on Permit Fees

After initially floating a proposal to increase fees under the New Mexico Mining Act’s reclamation permitting regime, the New Mexico Mining and Minerals Division (“MMD”) decided to extend current fees beyond the date set for the sunsetting of its fee structure to allow additional time to consider fee rates and possible improvements in program efficiency. The New Mexico Mining Commission will hear MMD’s proposal to extend fees at current rates on January 12, 2012.
