Luke Holmen is an associate in the firm’s litigation section practicing in the areas of tort, education, employment, and natural resources law at both the trial and appellate levels. Concurrent with his position at Modrall Sperling, Luke also serves as a member of the New Mexico Army National Guard Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG).
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law, Luke served as the Student Articles Editor of the New Mexico Law Review, the Lobby Committee Chair of the Graduate and Professional Student Association Council, and as the first President of the UNM Chapter of the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. He also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable James A. Parker and the Honorable C. LeRoy Hansen at the United States District Court for the district of New Mexico.
Prior to law school, Luke graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico with a B.A. in political science where he also minored in classical guitar performance and served as the News Editor of the Daily Lobo. Throughout his undergraduate and law school career, Luke served in the armed forces as a member of the New Mexico Air National Guard as a Geo-spatial Intelligence Analyst.
Luke is conversationally proficient in Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, backpacking, and playing guitar.
