Margaret Hickey

Margaret Hickey focuses her practice on federal and state taxation, tax controversies, estate planning, trust and probate law, business law, non-profit law, and real property law. Prior to practicing law, Margaret was a licensed land title examiner in the State of New Mexico and has experience with the complexities of real estate transactions in the State.

Margaret received a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University School of Law, after graduating cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law with a concentration in Taxation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship. At Loyola, Margaret served as Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola Journal of Public Interest Law, participated on the Environmental Law Moot Court team, and volunteered as an Income Tax Assistant at the VITA clinic. She clerked for the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service’s Small Business/Self Employment Division, where she frequently attended Tax Court. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Louis University and spent a year studying abroad at the Madrid, Spain campus.

As a native of Santa Fe, Margaret enjoys outdoor activities, including cycling, hiking, and backpacking.
