Modrall Sperling is pleased to announce that Rudy Beetley, Lauren Martinez, Caleb Ritzheimer and Colin Saunders have joined the firm’s Albuquerque office as Associate Attorneys.
Rudy Beetley practices in the firm’s Transactions Department, where he focuses on estate planning and taxation.
In law school, Rudy worked as a teaching assistant and served as the Managing Editor for Volume 56 of the New Mexico Law Review. Rudy received the McCormick Writing Prize during his first year and the Felix Briones Award in Ethical Integrity in Business Law for his work at UNM’s Economic Justice Clinic.

While in law school, Lauren served as the Student Articles Editor on the New Mexico Law Review for the year 2025-2026. She received the Clinical Honors Award in 2026 from the University of New Mexico School of Law. Lauren also received the CALI awards in Elements Legal Argumentation I, Intro. to Legal Research, State and Local Tax, and Economic Justice Clinic.

Originally from the Chicago area, Caleb received undergraduate degrees from Miami University in Classics and Political Science. He earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis. While in law school, he participated in the Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic and served as Executive Primary Editor on the Washington University Jurisprudence Review. He also authored a student note in the same publication, for which he earned Washington University’s Mary Hitchcock Collier Prize.
Colin Saunders is an associate at Modrall Sperling, focusing his practice within the Litigation and Natural Resources Departments.
Colin began his career serving in the United States Army. During his four years as an infantryman, he deployed to Paktika, Afghanistan, where he coordinated and executed security missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following an honorable discharge, Colin returned to his hometown of Albuquerque to earn his B.A. from the University of New Mexico before obtaining his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
