Overview
Santiago Piza Cossio is an associate in the firm’s Transactions Department, where he focuses on commercial transactions, real estate matters, and renewable energy development. Santiago rejoins Modrall Sperling after taking a leave of absence to serve as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Katherine A. Wray at the New Mexico Court of Appeals.
Santiago earned his J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. During law school, he worked as a research assistant and served as a Professional Articles Editor for the New Mexico Law Review. Before attending law school, Santiago obtained a law degree from the Sorbonne University in Paris, France, and a Master’s Degree in International Development from the Sorbonne’s Development Studies Institute. He began his career as a consultant and in the nonprofit sector before transitioning to finance and investment.
Outside of work, Santiago enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and traveling with his wife. He is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
