Dominic Martinez, Modrall Sperling associate and graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law class of 2017, has been awarded the Daniels Diploma, the law school’s top academic award.

The Daniels Diploma is named after former UNM professor Justice Charles W. Daniels of the New Mexico Supreme Court. The diploma is generally awarded to graduates who are first in their class, just as Justice Daniels was first in his class when he graduated from UNM School of Law.

“I was first inspired by Justice Daniels when I was in high school. I met him when he volunteered his time to help my mock trial team,” said Martinez. “Seven years later, it is an honor to receive an award in his name. Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way.”
